There are several schools that have guaranteed scholarships in Indiana that you need to be aware of If you will be attending college in Indiana. These schools include Indiana University, Goshen College, Grace College, the University of Indianapolis, the University of Saint Francis and Earlham College. If you will not be attending one of these schools, be sure to ask the financial aid officer at the school you will be attending if they offer any guaranteed scholarships that you might be eligible for because they are an easy scholarship to apply for.

At Indiana University $3000 is awarded each year to Indiana residents who score well on the SAT or ACT tests. Up to $1500 is awarded each semester to freshmen who had high SAT and ACT scores, who have high GPA scores, and who ranked high in their high school class. Goshen College, at www.goshen.edu, has numerous guaranteed scholarships available. Unlike many other colleges who award guaranteed scholarships, however, the scholarships offered by Goshen are need based, as well as merit based. The school awards between $1800 and $3000 to students with a GPA of 3.5, if they rank within the top 15% of their class, and if they have SAT and ACT scores of either 1110 or 24 respectively.

Goshen College also awards $2400 to $3500 to students who have a GPA of 3.8, and a score of at least 1270 on the SAT or 29 on the SAT, and are in the top 5% of their class. Additionally, $1000 to $2000 is awarded to National Merit Scholars, and $1000 to $7500 merit based awards are given to students from the United States and Canada based on GPA scores, SAT or ACT scores and financial need.

The University of Indianapolis, located at www.uindy.edu, offers several guaranteed scholarships. The school awards $9500 each year to students who rank in the top 5 to 7% of their high school graduating class, as long as they scored at least 1270 on the SAT or 29 on the ACT. They pay 30% of the tuition for students who rank in the top 15% of their class if they scored at least 1100 on the SAT or 24 on the ACT. Additionally, they award $2500 to $4500 each year for students who are members of the United Methodist Church.

St. Francis University, at www.stfrancis.edu, awards $1000 to freshmen who graduated from an Illinois Catholic school. They have additional awards in amounts from $2000 to $6000, and use a formula designed by the college to award students, based on GPA scores, test scores, and class ranking.

At Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana they have a Presidential Honors Scholarship which is guaranteed. To land this you must have a 1250 on the first two parts of the SAT, a 27 composite on the ACT and a 3.6 GPA or top 15% of your graduating class to be guaranteed $10,500 in scholarship monies. Transfer students qualify with only a 3.3 GPA from the college they are coming from while meeting the other requirements.

There is an unusual type of guaranteed college scholarships available in Indiana as well as in other states called the SAGE Scholars Program. It’s a Tuition Rewards program in that students are given discounts on their tuition based upon the value of identified savings or investments designated in their name with SAGE. Sage Reward Points can be thought of as frequent flyer miles used for college tuition only which a student earns by investments with a SAGE Financial Partner. The student will receive 5% of what his/her family saved through investments with a SAGE Partner. This 5% is a guaranteed discount off the student’s tuition bill. More and more colleges are signing up with SAGE so as to attract more students to their campuses because of this guaranteed scholarship program.
